Authorities are investigating a Thursday night armed robbery of the Dollar General at 2251 U.S. 13 North.
According to an incident report, a 6-foot-1-inch tall, black man forced two employees back inside the store at gunpoint and demanded money around 10:30 p.m. after the business had closed.
The man held the two people at gunpoint and forced them to open the safe and put the money in the bag. According to the report, the man got away with $4,071.
After getting the money, the report said the man took a phone charger and all of the Newport cigarettes from inside the business.
The man then stole the two employee's cell phones and fled the scene heading north on U.S. 13 in a silver 2007 Chevrolet Equinox, the report said.
Authorities requested video footage of the incident from security cameras in the store, the report said, and one of the employees held at gunpoint told them a manager would have to transfer the footage onto a disk for them.
The man is described as having worn a black jacket and black pants and weighing around 140 pounds.
