Shots fired into elderly woman's home

Someone fired a single shot into an elderly woman's home on Fifth Street late Monday night.
According to an incident report, Mary Jean Gregory, 67, was inside her home at 910 Fifth St. when a single bullet came through the door of 908 Fifth St., went through the wall and lodged itself in her residence.
The interior wall, closet door and outside door were all damaged, the report said.
Gregory was not injured by the gunfire.
The apartment that the shots came from is vacant.
The home incurred $400 in total damages, according to the report.
There are no suspects in the case.
Maj. Anthony Carmon, head of the Goldsboro Police Department's Investigative Services Bureau, was not able to provide any additional information when reached by phone Tuesday afternoon.
