Fundraisers for Pathway Academy

Pathway Christian Academy on George Street was badly damaged by the flooding from Hurricane Matthew.
Two fundraisers are planned to raise money to help in the restoration of the school.
On Saturday, Nov. 19, a yard sale will be held at the school from 8 a.m. until noon. People are asked to donate items for the sale. Tickets are $5 each, or five for $20.

Also, the Kickin Kiwi will sponsor a fundraiser the same day from 3 p.m. until 10 p.m. There will be gift certificates and baskets raffled off. The yogurt shop is located at 2138 Wayne Memorial Drive in the Harris Teeter shopping center.
Winners from the yard sale at the school will be announced at the Kickin Kiwi event.
School supporters also have a go fund me page set up for donations. In addition to the events, they will be making a plaques and adding anyone's name that donates $250 r more to the plaque and hanging on the wall of the school as a thank you to all who helped, as well as having their name written in the school yearbook.
The flood water line in the school building reached 3 1/2 feet. School officials tried to repair as much as possible but it suffered many losses, an estimate of $75,000 in damages.
Items in need are stove, refrigerator, office desks and chairs, 300 sheets of sheet rock, kitchen cabinets, 50 counter tops, carpet microwaves, playground equipment, arts and crafts supplies, electrical supplies, shop vac, computer equipment, freezer, paint, doors, linoleum, tile bathroom dividers.
