Eastern Radiologist will be hosting the 10th annual breast cancer benefit motorcycle ride. The event is Ride for the Ribbon on Oct. 15.
Last year's event raised a total of $17,000 to support breast cancer screenings / early detection programs and provide assistance to breast cancer patients during their treatment. All of the proceeds benefited women and men in Pitt, Beaufort and Lenoir counties.
Eastern Radiologist will be holding the 2016 event at the Breast Imaging Center at 2101 W. Arlington Blvd. in Greenville. Bikers will begin their 100-mile ride at 9:30 a.m. While the riders cruise the east there will be concessions, a live radio remote with WRNS, raffle prizes, baked goods and a 50/50 drawing. The event will be open to the public and non-motorcycle riders are encouraged to come participate as well.
Raffle items are posted on the Ride for the Ribbon Facebook page. Raffle tickets and event T-shirts will be for sale at the Breast Imaging Center. Participants who pre-register for the ride by the day of the ride will receive a free label pin.
