A man was stabbed Monday afternoon in front of the D&C Mini Mart at 1007 E. Elm St. and two men have been charged with attempted murder in connection to the stabbing.
Officers arrested Jake Cunningham, 27, of 115 Roosevelt Lane, Dudley, and Levi Cunningham, 32, of 1102 Stuart St., several hours after the incident in connection to the stabbing after the two men fled on foot.
Jake was charged with attempted murder and Levi was charged with attempted first degree murder. Both were given a $500,000 secured bond.
Officers responded to a call of a man getting stabbed around 1:30 p.m. Monday and found Kevin Sauls, 27, of 2610 Hill Circle Drive, suffering from a stab wound in his arm.
Blood was on the ground in front of the store and officers with the Goldsboro Police Department cordoned off the front of the store with yellow crime scene tape.
Capt. Trey Ball said there were two assailants that allegedly attacked Sauls, and the two men fled on foot from the store.
Both men were arrested at 205 Linwood Ave., according to arrest reports filed with the Goldsboro Police Department.
Liquid was coating the concrete immediately in front of the store's doors when officers arrived on scene Monday.
"The store tried to cleaning up before we got here and got everything secured," Ball said.
