A man was shot in the back Sunday morning while walking westward in the 700 block of Newsome Street.
Domiko Dereil Davis, 38, of 235 Wayne Ave., was walking alone when he was shot in the back, according to a police report.
Officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert around 7:50 a.m. Sunday and found Davis lying on the ground in front of 1101 Crawford St.
Davis told police he does not know who shot him, and was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Davis was the second person shot this weekend, with the first shooting happening around 3:30 a.m. Saturday, barely more than 24 hours before Davis was shot.

Washington is being treated for his injuries at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill Medical Center, and underwent surgery at Wayne Memorial Hospital before being taken to Chapel Hill.
