Two people were charged by the Wayne County Sheriff's Office for stealing gasoline Monday night just after 9 p.m.
According to a report filed with the Wayne County Sheriff's Office, Dillon Ellis Myers, 24, of 909 Chestnut St., Fremont, and Carrie Ann Ingram, 30, 1630 Mount Carmel Church Road, Pikeville, allegedly stole $61.80 in gasoline from the Stoney Creek Mart at 2043 N.C. 111 North.
Myers walked into the store and told the clerk he needed the gas pump turned on and would be paying with credit, according to the report. The clerk turned the pump on and Myers pumped gasoline into Ingram's vehicle, the report says.
According to the report, Ingram drove away from the store after giving Myers $13 in cash for gasoline. Myers then reportedly drove up to the same pump and put gas in his car.
Myers then went into the store to pay for his gas with his girlfriend's card but it was declined, the report says.
According to the report, Myers stayed on the scene until deputies arrived and both Myers and Ingram were arrested and charged for larceny of motor fuel.
They were both given a $500 unsecured bond.
