Worrells scholarships awarded

The Patrice Barnes Worrells Scholarship Fund has awarded more than $3,250 in scholarships to six Wayne County Public School graduates.
The recipients were Amon McEachern of Goldsboro High School, Bryon Martinez of Southern Wayne High School and Han Wang, John Herring, Jomari Barnes and Christopher Overcash of Eastern Wayne High School.
The scholarship is in memory of Patrice Barnes Worrells, a 2000 graduate of Eastern Wayne School, a 2000 North Carolina Teacher Fellowship recipient and a 2004 graduate with honors from North Carolina Central University with a bachelor's degree in elementary education and a master's degree in education from ECU.
She started her teaching career started at Brodgen Primary School and ended at Tommy's Road.
