Man arrested on rape charge

A Goldsboro man was arrested Wednesday and charged with second-degree forcible rape.
According to a press release from the Goldsboro Police Department, the alleged rape occurred on Aug. 25.
TLee Rodriquez Williams, 31, of 720 E. Walnut St. Apt. C, was served warrants for his arrest Wednesday and charged with second-degree rape.
Williams was placed in the Wayne County Jail and given a $150,000 secured bond.
His first appearance in Wayne County court is today.
Williams was arrested following an investigation by the Goldsboro Police Department after the victim reported the assault to authorities on Aug. 25.
Officers responded to Wayne Memorial Hospital at 10:57 p.m. Aug. 25 in reference to a sexual assault. The victim told police at that point that Williams had raped her.
The victim was treated and released from Wayne Memorial Hospital on Aug. 26.
