Two charged in armed robbery

Two men were arrested after an alleged vehicle and foot chase on Aug. 26 and charged in connection with an armed robbery.
Isiah Jarad Jacobs, 23, of 611 Isler St., was charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a firearm by a felon, carrying a concealed weapon and resist, and resisting, delaying and obstructing a police officer.
Justin Maurice Devaughn, 24, of 1617 E. Elm St., was charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of a stolen firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, fleeing to elude arrest and driving while license revoked.
The arrests and alleged vehicle and foot pursuit stemmed from a suspicion that the vehicle in which the suspects were in was involved in an armed robbery incident that occured outside of the Safeway located at 1901 N. William St. on Aug. 25.
According to a report, the victim of the robbery said that he had just left the store on the evening of Aug. 25 and was sitting down in his vehicle with his two sons when two black men approached him wearing bandanas.
According to the report, one man drew a small revolver pistol, pointed at the victim and demanded money.
The victim reported that the men took his wallet containing $100 and left in a grey Mercury sedan.
When Goldsboro police went to initiate a traffic stop of the suspected vehicle on Aug. 26 in the area of North William Street a vehicle pursuit allegedly ensued followed by an foot pursuit. Both men were placed under more than $1 million bonds.
