Teenager charged in larceny and killing dog

A teenager has been charged in a larceny and dog slaying incident that occurred late last month.

On Wednesday, Jalen Devon Taylor, 16, of 3201 Cashwell Drive, Apartment E, was charged with breaking and entering, larceny of a firearm, possession of a stolen firearm, larceny and cruelty to animals.

On Aug. 16, police responded to a report of breaking and entering at 114 Jessica Place, according to a press release.

The victim reported that someone had allegedly broken into the residence and stole several gun and electronics and shot and killed the victim's dog, Lyndi.

The Goldsboro Police Department Criminal Investigations Division conducted an investigation into the incident and subsequently charged Taylor.

Taylor was placed under arrest by the Wayne County Sheriff's Office Wednesday.
