Two sentenced for armed robbery, rape

RALEIGH -- The United States Attorney's Office announced that in federal court, United States District Judge Terrence W. Boyle sentenced Smith Merinford, 23, of Dunn to 865 months imprisonment, followed by five years of supervised release and Cortese Tramand Davis, 26, of Henderson to 528 months of imprisonment followed by five years of supervised release.
On June 7, Davis pleaded guilty to four counts and Merinford was found guilty of six counts of armed robbery of an Advance Auto Parts store in Fayetteville in November 2013.
Merinford also raped an employee of the store.
