Breaking and entering, killing of dog reported

Someone reportedly broke into a house Tuesday evening, stole several sets of keys and handguns, and then shot and killed the homeowner's dog.
Daniel Ratliff told police someone entered his unsecured garage door at his home on the 100 block of Jessica Place, rummaged through drawers and stole several sets of spare keys to several vehicles, and then shot and killed his dog, which he found lying in the garage of his home.
Phyllis Ratliff also reported to police that someone stole three of her handguns from the residence, which were a Kimber Crimson Carry .45 caliber handgun, a Derringer .22 caliber handgun and a Ruger LC9 .380 caliber handgun, according to a police report filed on the incident. According to the report, the spare sets of keys that were stolen were for a Buick, Chevrolet and Pontiac. There are no suspects at this time.
