The Wayne County Board of Elections will meet Tuesday, Aug. 16, at 3 p.m. to consider a new one-stop early voting schedule for the Nov. 8 general election.
The meeting, that is open to the public, will be held at the Board of Elections office, 209 S. William St.
Initially, the county's one-stop plan, submitted last month for approval by the state Board of Elections, set one-stop voting from Oct. 25 through Nov. 5.
But that changed when the U.S. Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that the state's 2013 voter ID is unconstitutional.
The court ruling reverts to the previous state voting law that allows for 17 days of one-stop early voting.
Unless there are other instruction from the courts the ruling means voters will not be asked to show photo identification during the election.
Also, same-day registration will be available at the one-stop locations.
