Man accused of assaulting daughter for using phone

A Goldsboro man has been accused of assaulting his adult daughter because she was using her cell phone late at night.
According to an incident report filed with the Wayne County Sheriff's Office, John Hodges, 59, of 120 Turner Road, allegedly grabbed his daughter by her shoulders during an argument and pushed her to the ground, and then began repeatedly hitting her head into the floor.
The report says the daughter informed deputies the argument between her and her father began because of her using her cell phone late at night.
According to the report, the daughter told deputies there have been other incidents involving her father and her mother. The report says the daughter was unsure whether or not she would file charges against her father at the time the report was filed, and deputies advised her of the warrant process.
