No arrests have been made in the shooting death of a 32-year-old active duty airman on Center Street early Sunday morning.

Ryan Apollo Morgan, of 102 Remington Court, was a senior airman working for the 4th Contracting Squadron on Seymour Johnson Air Force Base.

Morgan was shot around 2:30 a.m. Sunday in the 100 block of North Center Street and taken to the emergency room of Wayne Memorial Hospital, where he then died as a result of his wounds.

Investigators with the Goldsboro Police Department said Morgan's brother, 26-year-old Jason Kyle Morgan, was with him the night of the shooting.

Maj. Anthony Carmon with the Goldsboro Police Department said he could not say if Ryan's brother Jason had witnessed his brother's murder.

"They had gone out together that evening," Carmon said.

Carmon said the brother had been interviewed by investigators since the murder occurred.

No suspects were developed out of that interview, but Carmon said investigators were able to develop several leads they are investigating as a result.

Carmon could not comment on what leads were being investigated due to the incident being under an active investigation.

In total, Carmon said "at least 20 people" have been interviewed about the murder.

Carmon also said police do not know what events led up to Ryan's death early Sunday morning, and that police did not know how many people had witnessed the incident.

"Don't have a clue," Carmon said.

Carmon also declined to say what evidence had been recovered from the scene of the crime on the grounds of the investigation into the shooting being active still.
