Would-be thief tries to steal air conditioner

A man allegedly attempted to steal an air conditioning unit from the Walmart located at 2908 U.S. 70 West, according to a police report .
The report says a loss prevention employee at Walmart told police a white man walked up to the exit of the store carrying an air conditioning unit, but put the unit on the ground when the door greeter asked him for his receipt and left the premises in a dark colored SUV.
The employee told police they were unable to provide license plate information on the SUV.
