Wilson area teen Neal Lewis is taking "pay it forward" to a new level as he plans a special fundraiser on July 20 to support the children of America's fallen military and first responders.
Brewmasters in Wilson and Zaxby's in Wilson and Goldsboro have joined the inspiring teen in his heartfelt mission to raise funds for the rising non-profit Angels of America's Fallen.
The businesses have all volunteered to donate 10 percent of their sales on July 20 to the non-profit in support of the kids of America's fallen heroes.
Those wishing to stand with Neal, Brewmasters, and Zaxby's in helping fund healthy developmental activities for these amazing children are encouraged to come out to these locations on that day.
"I just wanted to do something really special for kids who have lost their dad or mom in uniform," said Neal. "I can't wait to see how much we can raise with Brewmaster and Zaxby's."
Neal's philanthropic heart found its match in Angels of America's Fallen (AOAF), a national organization that he read about in Family Circle Magazine. The non-profit directly funds healthy and developmental activities for children whose military or first responder parent gave all.
Of the 325 children that AOAF supports, 15 are from North Carolina. The organization is currently running a waiting list of children because demand has outpaced fundraising--making Neal's leadership all the more important.
"When I heard about Neal and how he was working with Brewmasters and Zaxby's to help us support more children, I was speechless," remarked Joe Lewis, President and CEO of Angels of America's Fallen. "We are truly humbled by his heart and initiative."
