The Wayne County Courthouse closed for the day Wednesday because of an air conditioning issue and was to reopen this morning.
Kendall Lee, facilities manager for the county, said the air conditioning went out around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday morning and was discovered by employees as they arrived to work.
Lee said half of the air conditioning system was down for the day, and that a part had to be ordered from New York to fix the system.
The part was expected to arrive today about 10 a.m., and was to be installed immediately.
"It's very uncomfortable in there right now, but the half that works will cool the building overnight and make it to where it'll be alright in the morning so they can open up and operate until we get to replace the part in the morning," Lee said.
Court was canceled for the day, and all county offices in the courthouse were also closed.
