The Goldsboro Police Department is investigating an armed robbery that happened Wednesday at China Taste Chinese Restaurant at 301 N. George St.
An unknown suspect walked into the restaurant just after 6 p.m. Wednesday evening, pointed at shotgun at two people working the registers and demanded money.
One cashier gave the suspect an unknown amount of money, and the suspect ran away down West Ash Street.
The suspect is described as being a 5-foot-8-inch black male who weighs 160 pounds.
There was one witness to the crime.
"The witness is cooperating but hasn't been able to give very much information about the suspect," said Maj. Anthony Carmon with the Goldsboro Police Department. "We are looking for anyone that might have been in the area at the time and might have seen anyone with that long gun."
Carmon said it is unclear whether the suspect continued to flee on foot after leaving the scene or used a vehicle.
"We don't know how far he fled or whether he went behind the building and jumped in a car and then fled or what."
