Memorial Day events planned

The official Wayne County Memorial Day Service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Moffatt Auditorium at Wayne Community College.
Gold Star Mother Isabel Carrasquillo will represent all fallen warriors, including her son, Army Spec. Jocelyn Luis Carrasquillo, who was killed in Iraq in March 2004.
The keynote speaker will be Chief Master Sgt. Shane Wagner, command chief of the 4th Fighter Wing at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base.
At 2:45 p.m., the observance of the National Moment of Silence will be held at the Wayne County Veterans Memorial at 239 E. Walnut St. Wagner will be the speaker, and he and Ms. Carrasquillo will take part in the ceremonial wreath laying at the Memorial Wall.
