Possible human remains discovered Friday night near 1723-B Holly St. have been sent to the state Medical Examiner's Office for identification.
Maj. Anthony Carmon of the Goldsboro police said the remains were found around 9 p.m. Friday by the apartment resident who called police.
The Criminal Investigations Section responded, and the investigation continues.
Carmon said he could not comment on the nature of the remains, exactly where they were located or how the resident came upon them.
The medical examiner is expected to examine the remains next week, he said.
Until that time, there is little information that can be released, Carmon said.
