A local woman has been charged with possession of heroin and methamphetamine precursors and a local man is in custody for outstanding orders for his arrest following an investigation by the Wayne County Sheriff's Office Drug Unit.
Amanda Leigh White, 26, of 2002 Margaret Drive, was charged with possession and distribution of a methamphetamine precursor and possession of heroin and placed under a $22,000 secured bond.
Jonathan Henry Reese, 39, of 1016 N.C. 581 North, was arrested on one count of failure to appear for a second degree trespassing charge, two counts of failure to appear for assault on a female charge and one count of failure to appear for assault with a deadly weapon. He was placed under a $20,000 secured bond.
"He had outstanding orders for his arrest and was at the address where we arrested her," said Maj. Tom Effler with the Wayne County Sheriff's Office.
The Wayne County Sheriff's Office Aggressive Criminal Enforcement team, sheriff's deputies with the sheriff's office A-shift patrol and Goldsboro Police Department officers were investigating a tip that heroin was being sold at 1016 N.C. 581 North on Monday when search warrants were secured for the residence.
As a result of the investigation Reese and Ms. White were arrested and charged.
"She was in possession (of heroin and methamphetamine precursors) on her body," Effler said.
