Additional charges have been brought against three men suspected of an armed robbery that happened at the Family Dollar at 1403 Wayne Memorial Drive on Monday night.
Terry Watson, 30, of Claybrook Drive; O'Brien Shaquille Hooker, 24, of 409 Duggins Drive in Kinston; and Devon Dejatorean Waters, 36, of 909 Thompson St. in Kinston were each arrested Monday night in connection to the armed robbery.
Watson was initially charged with felony aiding and abetting armed robbery and felony fleeing to elude and was placed under a $60,000 secured bond. He has also been charged with driving while his license was revoked.
Hooker and Waters were each initially charged with felony robbery with a dangerous weapon. Both men have also been charged with felony second degree kidnapping and felony discharging a firearm in an enclosure. Both Hooker and Waters were placed under a $260,000 secured bond.
The kidnapping charges for Hooker and Waters were due to an act they allegedly committed during the armed robbery.
"Any time you move one person from one place to another, be it from one side of the room to the other, that is a felony second degree kidnapping charge," said Maj. Anthony Carmon with the Goldsboro Police Department. "They (Hooker and Waters) committed that in the store, be it with an employee or a customer."
A Goldsboro police officer was conducting a patrol of the Wayne Memorial Drive area Monday night when the officer noticed an armed robbery occurring at the Family Dollar.
The officer notified other officers and two of the suspects in the armed robbery fled on foot behind the business, running toward Sixth Street.
Following this, a vehicle pulled out of Sixth Street and sped away from the scene. The vehicle was stopped in the 500 block of Quail Drive, and the driver, Watson, was arrested.
Hooker and Waters were located by a K-9 unit in the backyard of 102 Quail Drive, and surrendered without incident.
Carmon said the police department did not know how the two men from Kinston knew Watson.
