Hulse co-hosting policing program

Diana Hulse, formerly of Goldsboro, is currently co-hosting a groundbreaking pilot program on interpersonal skills for Connecticut police officers at Fairfield University.
The professor and chair in counselor education in the Graduate School of Education and Allied Professions of Fairfield University has amassed a resume that includes being a 2004 inaugural fellow for the American Counseling Association and 2012 Alpha Sigma Nu Graduate Teacher of the Year at the university.
The pilot program, which is also being hosted by Distinguished Visiting Professional in Applied Ethics, Peter McDermott. The manual for the training sessions is a handbook, "Policing in the 21st Century: Talk trumps technology," written by Ms. Hulse and McDermott.
McDermott, who has 47 years of experience in law enforcement and Hulse, who has worked 34 years as a counselor educator in doctoral and master's programs in counselor education, have also written published articles in the FBI Law Enforcement Bulletin and Counseling Today.
