Angie Archambault, who was trapped inside an elevator at BB&T Monday, gets a high-five, followed by a hug, from a co-worker shortly after being rescued.
A local woman is safe after Goldsboro firefighters saved her from being trapped inside a smoking elevator in the BB&T bank at 201 N. Spence Ave.
The elevator's hydraulic pump froze as the elevator was in operation while Angie Archambault was inside, causing the elevator's belt to burn off.
Smoke poured out from around the elevator and into the hallway as Goldsboro firefighters worked to remove Mrs. Archambault from inside.
The elevator had stalled on the first floor and Mrs. Archambault walked out of the elevator after firefighters were able to open the doors.
