The chance of threatening weather this Friday has prompted the Wayne Shrine Club to postpone its spring fish fry until Friday, April 8.
The National Weather Service is forecasting an 80 percent chance of showers on Friday.
Shriner George Raecher said the decision was primarily based on safety concerns of rain striking the boiling oil in which the fish is cooked.
The times, locations and ticket costs will remain the same, Raecher said.
People who have already bought tickets will still be able to use them on April 8.
Lunch will served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. in Mount Olive and Goldsboro.
The cost is $8 per plate.
It will be drive-through only in Mount Olive on N.C. 55 West next to Roberts Machine Shop.
In Goldsboro, the drive-through will be at Herman Park and eat-in only at the Herman Park Center.
Proceeds will benefit of Wayne Shrine Club activities, but the payments are not deductible as charitable contributions.
