Emergency personnel from various agencies respond to a truck in the Neuse River on Thursday at Prices Landing Boating Access Area in Wayne County.

Wayne County search and rescue teams are continuing their efforts today to recover a truck that was reported as being seen in the Neuse River just off of Prices Landing at 2042 Bill Lane Blvd. early Thursday morning.

It is unknown whether or not the truck was occupied at the time it entered the river.

Deputies received a call at 7:50 a.m. Thursday morning that a truck had been spotted in the Neuse River off of Bill Lane Boulevard at the Sam Casey Bridge, which spurred a daylong search and rescue effort by multiple departments.

After multiple boats were sent into the river in search of the truck, the Wayne County Sheriff's Office Dive Team also responded to the scene to search for the truck.

As of Thursday evening, the vehicle had still not been found in the river and authorities are continuing their recovery efforts for the truck today.

Two men -- Jimmy Cullen Alphin Jr. and Raymond McCumber Trevino Jr. -- were interviewed by deputies at the scene Thursday morning and provided a description of the truck to deputies.

Trevino told deputies that the truck was gray in color and was either a Chevrolet or GMC.

The lead investigator on the case, Detective Sgt. Jonathan Griffin, did not return a call requesting further comment on the case as of press time.
