Goldsboro police are still investigating what led up to the shooting that injured two people in the 500 block of Dail Street on Friday night.
Neither victim suffered life threatening injuries, despite one of them being shot in the face and the other being struck in the head.
"I'm not sure if the 61-year-old has been released from Vidant (Medical Center)," Maj. Anthony Carmon said.
According to a police report, the shooting took place at about 11 p.m. Shots fired outside the residence at 503 Dail St., struck a vehicle and the residence.
Inside the home, Hosea Ovvie Gibbs, the man Carmon referred to at Vidant, was struck in the face by one of the bullets. Outside in the car, Akeila Niyel Jones, 19, was hit in the head and back.
Police responded to the residence after receiving calls that a person had been shot. While en route, there was another call of a subject shot, this time in the 100 block of S. Berkeley Blvd.
"They were both shot at the same location, one stayed there at the location and the other was being transported to the hospital," Carmon said.
EMS responded to both locations and transferred each victim to Wayne Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Anyone with information regarding the shooting is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 919-735-2255 or text tips to 919-222-4230. Callers can remain anonymous and tips leading to a felony arrest are eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
