Two shot in city Friday

Goldsboro police are investigating two Friday shootings, one of which left two people injured.
Police were called to a house at 503 Dail St. around 11 p.m. Friday after receiving a call that a person had been shot inside a dwelling.
When officers arrived they found Hosea Ovvie Gibbs, 61, of 1807 Rose St., with a gunshot wound to the face.
The bullet that struck Gibbs appears to have entered through a bedroom window on the south side of the house, police said.
At about the same time, officers were called to the 100 block of South Berkeley Boulevard after receiving a report of someone being shot in their car.
When officers arrived they found Akelia Niyel Jones, 19, of 404 Olivia Lane, who had gunshot wounds to the head and back.
She told police she was in her car while it was parked on the 500 block of Dail Street when the shooting happened.
There were two bullet holes in the vehicle, police said. Both were taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital.
No additional information was available prior to press time Saturday night.
Police also are investigating a Friday shooting that happened around 1 p.m. on the 900 block of South Slocumb Street.
Robert James Dominque, 51, of 102 Calloway Court, told police his car had been hit by gunfire while he was driving along South Slocumb Street.
He was not injured.
Police said one bullet pierced the front bumper and went through the radiator.
Damages totaled $900 to the vehicle.
