The Wayne County Sheriff's Office is continuing its search for a Goldsboro man wanted in connection with an armed robbery that resulted in one man being killed and another wounded Jan. 9.

The suspect is known by the street name "Russ," according to a press release.

Darius Lamar "Russ" Chestnut, 35, 907 N. Carolina St., is wanted on one count of first-degree burglary and two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon.

The robbery took place at 159 Sleepy Creek Road the night of Jan. 9. Two men were reported shot inside the residence and when deputies responded, they discovered Carlos Cesar Vasquez Luna, 47, dead on the floor. Alfred Garcias, 25, was critically wounded.

Days after the failed robbery, investigators charged Jenele Lea Howard Wall, 35, with first-degree murder. A few days later, a second suspect identified as Montrel Allen, 41, turned himself in.

Allen is charged with first-degree burglary and attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon.

The sheriff's office has not yet released the full details on what transpired inside 159 Sleepy Creek Road the night of the murder. Two additional suspects remain unidentified at this time.

The motive for the killing has been stated as robbery, yet the details surrounding the planning and botched execution of the robbery remain unknown.
