The Wayne County Sheriff's Office is seeking the community's help in locating a third suspect in the Jan. 9 double shooting in Dudley that left one man dead and another man critically injured.

Two suspects have already been charged, and another two remain unidentified.

Investigators are searching for Darius Lamar Chestnut, 35, 907 N. Carolina St., in connection with the shooting.

"Felony warrants have been secured for his arrest," Maj. Tom Effler said.

Deputies responded to the residence at 159 Sleepy Creek Road on Jan. 9 to reports of a person shot. Once on scene, deputies found Carlos Cesar Vasquez Luna, 47, dead on the floor. Alfred Garcias, 25, of the same address, had also been shot. Garcias was taken to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville with life-threatening injuries and continues a slow recovery, the sheriff's office said.

Since the night of the shooting, two arrests have been made. Jennele Lea Howard Wall, 35, is charged with first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, attempted armed robbery and first-degree burglary. She is currently being held without bond in the Wayne County Jail.

Montrel Allen, 41, turned himself in to the sheriff's office days after Wall's arrest. He has been charged with attempted first-degree burglary, attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon and possession of stolen goods.

A Wayne County magistrate set Allen's bond at $300,000 secured.

Investigators are now hoping Chestnut will turn himself in, or that tips provided by the community will result in his arrest.

Two suspects remain unidentified, one of whose image is captured on footage from a convenience store security camera. Investigators have sent the image out to all area media.

Anyone with information regarding this investigation is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 919-735-2255 or text tips to 919-222-4230. Callers can remain anonymous and tips leading to a felony arrest are eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
