A free screening of the movie "Farmland' will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 26 at the Paramount Theater, 139 South Center St.
No pre-registration is required
The screening is being provided by the Wayne County Cooperative Extension.
"Farmland," a feature-length documentary, takes the viewer inside the world of farming for a first-hand glimpse into the lives of six young farmers and ranchers in their 20s.
Extension officials said they are excited to provide the showing so that people to learn more about various type of agriculture from the farmer's view point.
The film provides a unique view of the next generation's family farm through the lens of Academy Award-winning filmmaker James Moll.
Many Americans have never stepped foot on a farm or ranch or even spoken with the people who grow and raise the food they eat, yet are increasingly passionate about understanding where their food comes from, Extension officials said.
"Farmland" takes an intimate look at the lives of several farmers and ranchers, all in their 20s, and all responsible for running their own agriculture business.
Through the personal stories of these farmers and ranchers, viewers learn about their high-risk/high-reward jobs and passion for a way of life that has been pass down from generation, yet continues to evolve.
