One local candidate filed for office Friday, while another withdrew her candidacy.

Wayne County District 5 Commissioner Bill Pate of Goldsboro filed for a second term.

All seven commission seats are up for election. Pate, a Republican, was the last of the seven incumbent to file.

Constance Bryant Coram of Goldsboro has withdrawn her candidacy for Wayne County Register of Deeds.

A former employee of the office, Ms. Coram filed on Dec. 1, the opening day of the filing period.

Judy Denning Harrison, who was appointed to the office in October following the retirement of Lois Mooring, filed that day as well.

The filing period will continue until noon on Monday, Dec. 21.
