A Goldsboro man is being held in the Wayne County jail today on charges of assault with a deadly weapon and firing into an occupied vehicle after a shooting in the 600 block of Wilmington Avenue Tuesday.
Shawnquelle Commorris Futrelle, 28, 323 Friendly Drive, is being held in the Wayne County Detention Center under a $150,000 secured bond.
According to a Goldsboro police report, Futrelle opened fire on a 2007 Chevrolet Impala at about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday. The driver, a 24-year-old female, got out of her car just before the shooting started. Still inside the Impala was Brandon Maurice Turner, 22. Three bullets impacted the car, but neither victim was hit by the gunfire, according to the report.
Futrelle was located approximately three hours later in the 800 block of West Grantham Street and arrested. He is scheduled for a first appearance in Wayne County District Court later today.
