PRINCETON -- Four people are being held in the Johnston County jail on felony drug charges after a broken tag light led to a traffic stop in Princeton Saturday night.
Princeton police Chief Tyrone Sutton said all of the ingredients were present inside the car that are required for the manufacture of methamphetamine.
Joseph Lyne Johnson, 26, and Destiny Nicole Edwards, 18, of Four Oaks, Karissa Ann Hensley, 19, of Clayton, and Alan Randall Richardson, 19, of Selma are each charged with felony conspiracy, felony possession and distribution of methamphetamine and manufacturing of meth.
Johnson and Ms. Edwards' bonds have been set at $105,000 secured. Richardson and Ms. Hensley's bonds were set at $100,000 secured.
According to a press release, the license plate light was out on the 2006 Chrysler 300 the four suspects were driving, giving police officers cause to pull the vehicle over.
The traffic stop took place at 9:30 p.m. at the intersection of Pondsfield and Holts Pond roads.
"The tag light was out, that is what actually led to the traffic stop, but there were further indicators in the investigation," Sutton said. "They pretty much had everything."
Officers conducted a search of the vehicle and found all of the ingredients but one that are used in the process of manufacturing meth, he said.
Sutton said the investigation is ongoing.
"There will be further investigation regarding a possible source," he said.
