Man murdered

A Goldsboro man is dead and police are asking for the public to come forward with information following a shooting early Sunday morning.
Marcus Montrell Mclean, 29, died at Wayne Memorial Hospital after Goldsboro police officers found him lying face down in the road at 4:19 a.m., Sunday.
Maj. Anthony Carmon said it appeared Mclean was struck only one time, although several shots were fired.
"He was shot around the 800 block of Crawford Street with what appears to be a handgun," Carmon said.
Wayne County EMS responded and transported Mclean to Wayne Memorial Hospital where a short time later he succumbed to his injuries, according to a press release.
"He was struck around the midsection," Carmon said. He said the investigation has been assigned, but so far there are no suspects and no leads.
