Norwayne reunion this week

FREMONT -- Norwayne Alumni & Friends, Inc., will gather this week for its annual reunion.
The 43rd annual event will begin Friday and run through Sunday, Sept. 4-6.
This year's theme is "Memories Take Us Back - Dreams Take Us Forward."
Activities begin with a networking/business meeting at 7 p.m. on Friday at the Norwayne Alumni & Friends Community Center at 106 E. Branch Street. in Fremont.
On Saturday, activities will include a parade, banquet and dance. The annual parade in Fremont, begins at 10 a.m. at the Martin Luther King Park, Ballance Road, proceed down Main Street and end at the park.
A banquet will be held at 6 p.m. and a dance will be held 9 p.m. at the H.V. Brown Hall -- Dillard/Goldsboro Alumni Cultural Center at 801 Poplar Street in Goldsboro.
The banquet speaker will be Billy J. Sauls, Norwayne School graduating Class 1965 and retired U.S. Secret Service Agent.
The Sunday morning worship service will be held at 11 a.m. at Norwayne Alumni & Friends Community Center. Pastor Leonard Smith of Christian Life Fellowship International Ministries in Wilson will deliver the message.
The weekend's activities will culminate with a gospel fest on Sunday, starting at 6 p.m. at St. James Disciples Church of Christ at 514 Memorial Church Road in Fremont.
Proceeds from the weekend activities will benefit the scholarship fund and Community Center building fund.
Tickets are available and may be purchased at the door for all activities.
