Woman, juvenile charged in separate shootings

Two people have been arrested by Goldsboro police in connection with recent shootings in the city that left three people injured.
The suspect in one case is a juvenile. The suspect in the other case is a woman.
According to a press release issued early today, a juvenile identified through the course of a police investigation is charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury. The charges stem from a shooting incident that took place behind the apartments at Day Circle, otherwise known as Courtyard, in the 1700 block of South Slocumb Street at 8:21 p.m., last Thursday.
Ty'Quan Sutton, 18, and an unidentified 15-year-old female were both shot in the leg and were taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
A separate investigation into a shooting that took place Monday morning outside a Simmons Street residence also resulted in an arrest Wednesday. Denisha Lashonda Todd, 21, of 404 Wayne Ave., is charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and discharging a weapon into an occupied dwelling. She is currently being held in the Wayne County Detention Center under a $200,000 secured bond.
On Monday at 12:26 a.m., police were called to 608 Simmons St. and found Freddie Antonio Tann, 36, suffering from a gunshot wound to the right arm. Neither of the two women who were sitting with Tann on his front porch nor a woman who was inside the home at the time of the shooting were injured.
Police Maj. Anthony Carmon said investigators developed Ms. Todd as a suspect and she was located and charged by officers with the housing unit and the Selective Enforcement Unit early today. He said no motive for the shooting has been determined.
