Quamine Donshaye James, 25, of 1003 Day Circle, was shot one time in the back of his leg at about 4 a.m. Saturday morning after being approached by a group of six men wearing red bandanas across their faces.

According to a Goldsboro Police Department police report, James was standing in front of the 500 building of Day Circle when he was approached by the group.

James reported to police that the men in the group were all wearing dark clothing, concealing their faces with red bandanas.

One of the men allegedly told the others in the group, "He's good," referring to James, and that's when the men began shooting.

James started running away and was struck once in the back of his right thigh by a bullet of an unspecified caliber.

James was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital for treatment, where it was then discovered he had three separate warrants out for his arrest in Johnston County.

After he was released from the hospital, he was arrested by the Goldsboro Police Department.

James was charged with three felonies: possession of a firearm by a felon, conspiracy and larceny of a firearm by a felon.

He was placed in the Wayne County jail under a $30,000 secured bond.

The suspects in Saturday morning's shooting remain unidentified. This incident marks nearly a dozen shootings within the city limits in a week, two of which proved to be fatal, six of which caused injuries and three of which caused property damage to citizens' homes.
