New app will help find deals

"Do you offer a military discount?"
Now, there's an app for that.
The Wayne County Chamber of Commerce now offers a one-stop shop for finding out which of the 572 Chamber businesses offer a military discount or deal.
Similar to the educator's discount, the Golden Rule, Seymour Savings is a way to reward the men and women of Seymour Johnson Air Force Base for their service.
The savings are available through the free My Chamber App, available on Apple's iTunes and Google Play Store for Android.
Chamber Director of Marketing and Sales Lara Landers says they have been working on Seymour Savings for quite awhile.
She was not surprised by the large number of military discounts being offered in the area. So far, there are 70 Seymour Savings promotions.
"Goldsboro is such a military-friendly town, people want to say thank you," she said.
This was an extra chance to help businesses reward service members.
In addition to the military discount, the app features "Hot Deals" for the general public.
Also on the app are business profiles, including hours of operation and phone numbers.
