Postduty.com, a website launched to help veterans and their families find colleges to support their educational goals, is now online.

Its debut comes after a year of diligent planning and programming, resulting in the creation of a virtual meeting place for colleges and veterans to connect for academic planning. Postduty.com's founders are currently serving veterans in the Carolinas and plan to soon offer their services nationwide.

"Postduty believes that military service members deserve an opportunity to earn a career-enabling college degree because of their sacrifices for our country," said Postduty's Tommy Vadell, chief marketing officer.

Studies show that while 38 percent of all U.S. veterans utilize their earned educational benefits in some form, only 4 percent of those veterans attend postsecondary institutions.  Postduty.com  plans to equip military service members and their families with information to help them choose great colleges, while lessening their financial burden.

Postduty.com  provides a free service through which veterans can search for colleges to match their criteria by creating personal profiles to highlight their backgrounds and academic interests. College recruiters can then connect with service members who have made their profiles public.

Postduty.com  has attracted the interest of hundreds of veterans and colleges. Winthrop University in South Carolina was first to become a member of this military-focused website.

Joshua Bistromowitz, Winthrop's executive director of recruitment, believes  Postduty.com  is a great way for veterans to choose colleges as he has encountered former service members who gave up after finding the process too challenging.  "Postduty.com  will make his life a lot easier," he said.

Brandon Gingras has already completed his profile at  Postduty.com, though he will not begin his Air Force term until summer's end.

With the help of Postduty.com, Gingas said, he now has "a clearer vision of where I want to go and the path I am going to take to get there."
