Shots fired in the 1100 block of North George Street on Monday afternoon struck a house and several vehicles, according to a Goldsboro police report.
The home and at least two of the vehicles struck were occupied. No one was injured.
"It looks like two different people where shooting at each other from across the street," Sgt. Jeremy Sutton said. "Right now the only description that we have is they were black males, younger."
Sutton said the fact that passing motorists and nearby residences were struck is of great concern.
"We are taking it very seriously," he said.
Layla Sanders, 32, was inside her home when gunfire erupted outside at 12:20 p.m. Monday.
Bullets struck Ms. Sanders' home as well as vehicles parked nearby. Two passing vehicles were also hit.
The vehicles struck included a Mazda 3, a Ford Crown Victoria, a Chevrolet express van and an International 700 series.
The total amount of estimated damage to all vehicles and the house came to $4,800.
