Two men facing charges

The Goldsboro Police Department has two men in custody investigators believe are responsible for two shootings that took place June 24.

Their intended target escaped injury both times.

Martinez King, 19, 2509 E. Elm St., and Corey Sutton, 17, are each charged with felony firing into occupied property and misdemeanor damage to property. Both are being held in the Wayne County Detention Center.

On June 24, shootings occurred within minutes of each other at the shopping center anchored by Carlie C's IGA at 1803 Wayne Memorial Drive and at a residence at 1701 C N. George St. No one was injured, but bullets did strike the residence on North George Street.

King's bond has been set at $50,000, and Sutton's bond is set at $30,000 secured.

According to a press release issued late this morning, investigators working with officers assigned to the housing unit were able to locate and to arrest King and Sutton without incident, but the investigation is ongoing,
