Myatt

The Garner man wanted by the Goldsboro Police Department since December 2014 in connection with the attempted murder of Daniel Clark, 44, outside the Skylight Mini Mart has been captured, according to a press release.

The Wake County Sheriff's Office arrested Christopher Dre Myatt, 22, June 4 on a Wayne County warrant for attempted first-degree murder.

Myatt was placed in the Wake County Detention Center under a $500,000 secured bond.

"Warrants these days are electronic," Maj. Anthony Carmon said. "If somebody stops someone somewhere and finds there is a warrant for their arrest issued from anywhere in the state of N.C., they can serve that warrant."

Myatt allegedly shot Clark outside the Skylight Mini Mart at 720 E. Ash St. on Christmas Eve 2014. He was captured on the store's surveillance video and his image was sent out to the media just days after the incident.

Clark was taken to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville following the shooting. After initially being listed in critical condition, Clark was treated for his injuries and continues to recover.

According to officials in the Wayne County Office of the Clerk of Courts, Myatt remains in the Wake County Detention Center and is awaiting transfer back to Wayne County to face prosecution. He is scheduled to appear in Wayne County District Court June 17 at 1:30 p.m.
