Mount Olive girl improving after crash

The condition of an 11-year-old girl who was struck by a car last week while riding her bicycle has been upgraded from critical to stable at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.
Emily Craft of Mount Olive was riding her bicycle after school when the accident happened late Monday afternoon, June 1, on Norwood Ezzell Road southeast of Mount Olive in Duplin County.
Duplin County State Highway Patrol officials said the child rode her bicycle across the road and into the path of a car driven by Betty Sue Anderson, 41, of Mount Olive who was traveling south on Norwood Ezzell Road.
Emily was taken to Vidant Duplin in Kenansville and then airlifted to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.
No charges will be filed.
