A shootout on the 700 block of East Pine Street early Friday resulted in one victim sustaining injuries and a neighboring house incurring damage from the shots fired.

Patrol officers with the Goldsboro Police Department heard shots being fired on the 700 block on East Pine Street just after 2 a.m. and responded to the scene.

Officers discovered an unknown suspect had fired at a Dodge Dart. The car had three people inside. Although the care was damaged, no one was hurt.

A nearby house also sustained damage.

Wayne Memorial Hospital officials also called police to report a man who was admitted with bullet wounds to his right hand and left leg.

Patrol officers went to the hospital to speak with the injured victim, said Maj. Anthony Carmon with the Investigative Services Division of the Goldsboro Police Department.

"I can tell you we are going to look into it to see if it's related to anything else that's been happening," Carmon said.

He said the homeowner whose property was damaged by the gunfire was unable to say what type of car the suspect might have been driving.

This incident marks the third shooting in Goldsboro since Sunday, each of which have resulted in victims sustaining some sort of injury.

* On Sunday, SirAndre Leamon Turner, 23, of Beech Street, was shot several times while sitting in his car on the 600 block of East Holly Street.

* On Tuesday night, two men were shot at the intersection of South George and West Pine streets. In that incident, one victim fled the scene and remains unidentified. Another victim, Reginald Antwan Fields, 30, of Prince Avenue, was shot multiple times including at least one round in the back.

* On Wednesday, there was a shootout on Poplar Street, which did not result in any injuries. Jonathan Junior O'neal, 25, of 605 S. Best St., arrested in connection with the incident. A passenger car was caught in the crossfire of the Wednesday shootout, but no injuries were reported.
