The Goldsboro Police Department is investigating a series of motor vehicle break-ins discovered in the West Haven community early Saturday morning.
As many as 10 vehicles had one or more windows smashed out with a pry tool, according to police reports.
Although nothing is ever ruled out, investigators are working the case today under the assumption the break-ins are connected.
"At this point, that is kind of the road we are taking, that this is one big incident," Maj. Mike West said.
Vehicles parked along Dupont Circle, Astor Court, Rockefeller Court and West Oak Street were targeted. Patrol officers conducting an area check discovered some of the break-ins at about 3 a.m. Saturday. Additional reports came in over the next few hours.
West said there is likely a connection between the Saturday morning series of break-ins and a similar incident that took place several months back.
"That is what Maj. Anthony Carmon and his investigators are working on to see today," West said.
Currency and property were removed from most of the vehicles, and one victim had several items removed from the trunk of his car after the suspects smashed the driver's side window.
