Goldsboro police Monday secured involuntary commitment papers against a Goldsboro man after he attempted to turn in a deposit slip with "outrageous" numbers at a Goldsboro bank.

It was not a robbery attempt, said police Capt. Dwayne Dean.

Dean said that the man, Michael Moye, no age listed, had been at the McDonald's on North Berkeley Boulevard before wandering over to the BB&T branch on Spence Avenue.

Moye attempted to turn in a deposit slip written for millions of dollars.

Dean said it appeared that Moye experienced some "mental issues and was acting weird in the bank," and that officers secured the involuntary commitment papers.

There were no criminal charges filed.
