Carolina Panthers wide receiver Jerricho Cotchery and former East Carolina and pro quarterback David Garrard will be at the new Dick's Sporting Goods this coming weekend when it celebrates the grand opening of its new Goldsboro store.

Dick's Sporting Goods, the largest U.S.-based, full-line sporting goods retailer, will open its 32nd store in North Carolina and 605th store nationwide Friday at 505 Eastgate Drive near Berkeley Mall.

An opening date has yet to be announced for the new PetSmart that is being built directly next to Dick's Sporting Goods at 507 Eastgate Drive. However, the company's website lists 14 job openings for which it is accepting applications.

The three-day grand opening celebration will run through Sunday. The store will open at 8 a.m. Friday and Saturday and at 9 a.m. Sunday.

The first 100 people in line Friday will be eligible for a free Reebok Play Dry T-shirt. People who are in line at 7:45 a.m. on Friday will get a chance to open the Dick's Sporting Goods Gift Locker. No purchase is necessary.

Saturday and Sunday giveaways include a free mystery gift card from $5 to $500 for the first 100 adults in line. People who are in line at 7:45 a.m. Saturday and 8:45 a.m. on Sunday will also get a chance to open the Dick's Sporting Goods Gift Locker. No purchase is necessary.

Cotchery will make an in-store appearance on Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m. On Sunday, Garrard will be in the store from 1 to 3 p.m. Wristbands will be required for autographs. The wristbands will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis on the day of event only. Limit one per person. Visit DICKS.com/Goldsboro for details.
